Surveillance cameras at Cairo University’s main gate are working properly but the public prosecution has not asked for their contents until now in light of the terror blast that hit the area on Wednesday, university president Gaber Nassar said.
The cameras installed at the main gate, however, may have not recorded the blast due to the presence of obstructions in its field of view, Nassar told MENA.
New cameras will be set up beside the old ones for a better coverage of the university’s surroundings, he said.
An explosive charge went off Wednesday outside the university’s main gate, leaving 11 persons injured, including seven policemen.
