Luxury boating enthusiasts from around the planet will converge upon Cannes from September 9 to 14, where the world's most beautiful yachts will be on display to the public. Here is a preview of five star vessels that are bound to make a splash at the event.
The longest yacht at the festival
At 55 meters long, the Ocean Paradise by Benetti will be the most imposing boat in Cannes this year. The vessel is built around four cabins, all with large portholes so that occupants can gaze out at the ocean. Each cabin also has its own private bathroom. Made of steel and aluminum, the yacht has a 'beach club' on the poop deck where passengers can relax. A small garage hidden in the side of the craft holds two jet skis.
A motorboat with an on-board pool
The Logica Yachts 147 has an exterior pool on its foredeck, which is ideal for those who want to cool off without diving into the open sea. Up to 12 passengers at a time can board the craft, which has six bedrooms including a suite and a VIP room.
An eco-friendly yacht
The Filippetti Navetta 30 was designed to be respectful of the environment, as its ergonomic shape means that it consumes less fuel than other boats in its range. Its energy efficiency and its high-capacity fuel tank allow yachters to enjoy particularly long cruises. A master bedroom suite, three double bedrooms with private baths and two double cabins allow the craft to host up to 12 passengers.
The quietest sailboat
The largest sailboat at the event, and also the quietest, the Admiral Sail Silent 76 is equipped with two motors, allowing sailing fans to navigate the waters in total safety. The motors are located inside a soundproofed engine room to limit noise and vibration. The boat is built around four cabins for the passengers and one for the crew.
A boat with its own wine cellar
All the comfort of home on a yacht: this is Otam's promise with the 58' HT. And to live up to this claim, the manufacturer has equipped the boat with a 16-bottle wine cellar, two small HD home cinema theaters with surround sound, and a satellite system that allows passengers to access all of the TV programs they enjoy from their sofa on dry land.
