Mohamed Al Sagheer Karah Algiers - Hocine Bousalah The spokesman of “El Taqweem wa el Taaseel Movement in the National Liberation Front (FLN )”, Mohamed Al Sagheer Karah, had told Arabstoday that the movement insists on the departure of the current Secretary-General of the FLN, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, following his violations of the party’s laws. Karah said that the last meeting of the movement, which was held last Saturday in the Algerian capital was represented by 38 states belonging to the movement’s factions. The FLN, which Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika belongs to, dominates the country's parliament after winning majority seats in the legislative elections held this year. A committee ordered to register Belkhadem’s violations at the Central Committee of the FLN on June 12. The discussion between supporters and opponents of Belkhadem turned into violence against members of the Movement, which made it file a lawsuit against Abdelaziz Belkhadem and some of his accomplices whom were described as “thugs” by Al Sagheer. The spokesman for “El Taqweem wa el Taaseel Movement “ said, "the Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Abdelaziz Belkhadem refused to hold a clean vote. Regarding the legitimacy of Belkhadem as the head of the National Liberation Front, Karah said: "This legitimacy has become a thing of the past, especially with the scandals that are chasing Belkhadem wherever he goes." He was accussed of "exploiting state property to promote his campaign and his personal interests, especially in the legislative elections which took place on May 10.” On the controversy for the movement’s support of the former Defence Minister Khaled Nizar, and his dispute with Belkhadem; Karah said it "was not due to the disputes with Belkhadem, but because of the movement’s belief which does not defend Nizar as a person, but as a government that has been targeted by third parties.” The dispute between Belkhadem and Nizar was due to accusations launched by Nizar, describing Belkhadem as a "liar". Karah told Arabstoday that the act was an "exploitation of the state". He also said Belkhadem's alleged intention to strength his party with youth members was a lie. The spokesman for “El Taqweem wa el Taaseel Movement” talked about their preparations to enter the realm of local elections, to be held in next November, explaining that "the participation details will be announced within days," stressing at the same time " that the movement will continue taking all legal proceedings against Belkhadem.” He confirmed,” Belkhadem’s fall is within a matter of time.”
