Nasiba Eisa Jaradat Amman – Osama al-Rantissi An Israeli court has sentenced a Jordanian woman to seven months in jail for transferring funds to Hamas. Mother of two Nasiba Eisa Jaradat, 30, was arrested by the Israeli army in June 2012 during a visit to her parents in the West Bank. Jaradat’s father denied his daughter’s involvement with Hamas and claimed she was innocent of all charges. He said the charges against Jaradat, who graduated from the University of Jordan, were not proven, even after the court case was rescheduled five times. Jaradat’s cousin allegedly asked her for money to build a mosque and then told Israeli officers she was helping Hamas ‘move money’, her father explained. Her cousin was also arrested and sentenced to six months in jail. Jaradat's father also criticised the Jordanian government for not protecting his daughter and said they ignored numerous letters he sent with regards to this case. The National Committee for Jordanian prisoners demanded Jaradat's immediate release and said she was arrested for crimes she did not commit.
