A Turkish soldier was killed and three others injured on Friday when by a bomb planted along a highway by the PKK militants detonated in Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari, security sources said according to Turkish news agency Anadolu.
The assailants detonated the explosive as a military vehicle was traveling in Hakkari's Semdinli district. All four injured soldiers were initially taken to the Semdinli and Yuksekova state hospitals, where one of the injured later succumbed to his wounds.
An air-supported operation in the region is underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
