A Dutchman and at least a dozen locals have been killed in Nepal by landslides caused by monsoon rains, an army spokesman said Thursday. Chris Van Ravesbery was trekking in Syafrubeshi, north of the capital Kathmandu, on Wednesday afternoon when a landslide buried him. An army rescue team found his body. At least 12 Nepalese were also killed on Wednesday in five different places by landslides after heavy monsoon rains. A 17-year-old schoolgirl in Godavari, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, died when her house was buried in debris.
