Macedonian police on Thursday arrested 87 toll-road workers under suspicion that they were part of an organized group who have siphoned about two million euros (2.7 million U.S. dollars) from tollbooths.Interior Ministry said 92 people have been charged for involvement in the issue. They were alleged to have given drivers false receipts and pocketed the money for themselves between 2010 and 2011.The detainees, from the country's different road tollbooths, have been charged for misuse of their position, forgery and organized crime. The police are still looking for another five suspects.The police accused two people from the money collection department at the public company "Macedonian roads" of organizing the crime, saying they got harsh money from the wrongdoers.Macedonia arrested 72 toll road workers in 2007 on similar charges, but most of them got suspended sentences or were simply freed.
