Two anti-smuggling personnel of the Customs Department were injured on Saturday when their vehicle overturned while chasing a car with contraband near Aqaba, the department said.
Official spokesman Col. Imad Nseir said a customs patrol chased the “suspicious” car, which was coming from Aqaba, after its driver refused an order to halt. He said the driver left the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but was captured by another patrol and the contraband seized.
The spokesman said the two officers were lightly injured and transferred to a hospital, where they were listed in a good condition.
