Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed on Saturday Cuba’s full support for the Palestinian state, historical struggle, and Palestinians’ right to self-determination and sovereignty as an independent state, according to Cuban Prensa Latina News Agency. In a meeting with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riad Malki at the Cuban foreign ministry, Rodriguez confirmed his country’s support for the establishment of a Palestinian state on 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem, in the vote of the next General Assembly session of the United Nations in September. For his part, Malki said his visit to Cuba is part of a campaign by the Palestinian Authority to enhance the recognition of a Palestinian state by member countries of the UN in September. Malki thanked Cuba for its unwavering support of the establishment of a Palestinian state and its solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
