At least two people were killed and 72 others injured Sunday in a grenade explosion during Madagascar's national day celebration, the Prime minister Mahafaly Solonandrasana said.
The blast struck the Mahamasina municipal stadium in Madagascar's capital at around 16:00 GMT when singers performed shows marking the celebration of the national day.
The crowd tried to find the exit from the stadium. The show was cut and many people full of blood lied on the ground.
At the hospital of Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona, two bodies were already put at the morgue while 72 were injured and still waiting their emergency care.
The Prime Minister qualified the act as terrorism. Safety measures were already taken immediately to insure the safety of the population.
Madagasar's President Hery Rajaonarimampianina has rushed to the hospital with the Prime minister and some ministers.
The president also condemned this act and ordered the armed forces to do their work.
Earlier in the morning a man was arrested by the armed forces just after he put an explosive nearby Anosy lake, a place frequented by many people in Madagascar's capital.
Madagascar celebrated its 56th anniversary of independence on Sunday with many festivities. The country got its independence from France on June 26, 1960 after being colonized for 64 years
