Egyptian Football Association building set alight Cairo - Arabstoday Historical Egyptian football documents were burned and national team trophies were stolen after hardcore al-Ahly fans torched the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) headquarters in Cairo, an EFA official has claimed. Sarwat Swelam, Chief Executive of EFA, told state news agency MENA: "The situation is very difficult. The EFA headquarter was totally burned and president Gamal Alaam will return from abroad to attend today's urgent meeting. "Large numbers of Ultras Ahlawy burned all the documents and papers and also stole all the cups. The history of Egyptian football is now lost and cannot be recovered," he added. The attack was in reaction to the verdict issued Saturday on the deadly Port Said stadium disaster, where the court acquitted seven of the nine police officials on trial.
