Striker of Moroccan Wydad Casablanca Mohamed Onajem expressed his frustration over the defeat of his team during its match against Egypt’s Al Ahly football team in the framework of the group stage of CAF Champions League.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the first goal performed a major role to allow the Egyptian team control the match, saying that they failed to seize the opportunities they had during the match to score saying that they are the only team which has not taken any break during the last three seasons due to their participation in the CAF Champions League immediately after the end of the local tournament.
He called the African Football Confederation for amending the timing of African championships to allow the players benefit from their annual break. He stressed that Wydad will resume the local championships immediately after the current group stage, saying that they will not benefit from their annual break this year.
