New Jordan coach Hussam Hassan Amman - Hasoun Al Sheikh Egyptian coach Hussam Hassan has been appointed as the head coach of Jordan's national football team. The 47-year-old replaces Adnan Hamad, whose 4-year contract expired last week. President of the Jordan Football Association, Prince Ali ibn al-Hussein, confirmed Hassan's appointment on Tuesday. Hassan, a retired footballer, who made his name as a striker for Cairo-based al-Ahly, has coached several Egyptian clubs including Zamalek. The announcement came amid media reports on Monday that Iraqi coach Hamad had agreed to renew his contact. Hassan, who put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal, will take charge for his first match against Syria on August 15.
