Wadi Degla’s former goalkeeper coach Fekry Saleh revealed that former coach of Egyptian national team Mahmoud Al Johary predicted that Egyptian footballer Mohamed Ibrahim will succeed to prove his talent in football. He added that the former historic coach of Egypt described the player as talented.
He said that he wants the Argentine to lead the Pharaohs to Russia 2018 after earlier contradictory statements, Adding that he has no personal agenda against under-fire Pharaohs' coach Hector Cuper.
He added that Cuper has been heavily criticized for the North Africans' disappointing showing against Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifying earlier this month despite a 1-0 return victory following a 1-0 away reversal.
He added that he was among the critics. He slammed the Argentine for a stalled Pharaohs side in the last two years and described the performance against Uganda as "alarming", particularly with the side scheduled to play away to Ghana in the last round of the qualifiers.
He said, “He needs to give more chances to some players that play in the Egyptian League. He can prepare these players and they will benefit the team, just like I did in the past.”
Shehata concluded his comments by discussing Egypt’s chances of reaching the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia, saying, “Hopefully we will reach the World Cup. We are very close to reaching the World Cup and we have some quality players.”
