Member of Egypt’s Ahly club board Mohamed Heleil expressed his confidence of the handball team’s ability to win the African Champions League hosted currently by Esperance Club of Tunisia from March 17 to 28.
He praised the team’s performance during the first matches of the tournament, saying that the recent win against Esperance Club of Tunisia before its fans is a notable achievement will push the players to achieve more wins during the coming matches.
He added, “Such accomplishments are not strange for Ahly’s handball team which managed before to win the same tournament when it was conducted in Tunisia in 2015, as the team won over Esperance Club of Tunisia in the final match. Ahly players can repeat the accomplishment this year.”
He praised the efforts exerted by the team’s board to support the handball team, saying that Ahly’s chairperson Mahmoud Taher expressed his keenness to meet the needs of the team and to carry out the demands of its coaching staff and players to win the tournament.
He added that he responded to the demand of the coaching staff to change the hotel hosting the players transferring them to another hotel near the longue hosting the team’s matches in order to avoid stress. He added that the board is keen to provide all means of comfort for the players to win the African championship and to compensate the fans for the loss of the league.
