David Beckham London - Arabstoday Fabio Capello has no plans at present to involve David Beckham in the Euro 2012 finals, either on or off the pitch. Beckham was not chosen in Capello's squad for the 2010 World Cup, but did play a part acting as a mediator between management and the players. It was a successful exercise and kept Beckham involved in England's set-up at a time when he was still hopeful of gaining an international recall. But the former Manchester United star has since slipped completely out of the picture in terms of playing, although he has often stated he will never formally retire from international football. Asked if Beckham could be part of his off-the-field team in Poland, Capello said: 'I haven't thought about this.' And asked if there was any chance of Beckham being in his Euro 2012 squad, Capello added: 'No, I think he will only be involved in the Olympic Games. 'I don't know. I have time to decide. Is he in my plans now? No.' Beckham won the last of his 116 caps as a substitute against Belarus in a World Cup qualifier in October 2009. Meanwhile, Beckham has been named the MLS Comeback Player of the Year after helping the LA Galaxy into this weekend's title decider against the Houston Dynamos. Beckham missed most of last season after suffering an Achilles injury while on loan at AC Milan. The 36-year-old returned this term to play 26 games - the most he has managed in a season since his move to the United States - while also contributing 15 assists. Beckham, who was also named in the MLS Best XI last week, received 59.8 per cent of votes cast by media, players and club officials.
