Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou Casablanca - Said Ali Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou says he is delighted to have been given the opportunity to train with Atletico Madrid's first team. The reserve team stopper told Arab Today that it was an honour to be coached by Atletico manager Diego Simeone. Bounou, 22, joined the Spanish club from Wydad Casablanca last year, but has failed to break into Simeone's senior squad. The 6 ft 2" keeper said he is hopeful of making his name in Spain, and wants to emulate Moroccan goalkeeping legend Badou Ezzaki. Bounou, who was recently called up to the Moroccan national team, said that despite the team's failure to qualify for the 2014 World Cup, he is optimistic about the future under coach Rachid Taoussi. The Moroccan international thanked Wydad Casablanca for helping him develop as a footballer, and said that his experiences in Spain would ultimately lead to better performances for the national team.
