Haimoudi has been a referee since 2001 Algiers - Khaled Alloush Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Algerian Djamel Haimoudi as referee for Sunday's African Cup of Nations final between Nigeria and Burkina Faso at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. The final will be the 42-year old's fourth African Cup of Nations match after he was main official in South Africa versus Cape Verde, Ghana versus Congo, and Nigeria versus Ivory Coast. Haimoudi was chosen by CAF officials for a selection of outstanding performances in South Africa. He was recently voted by CAF as the African Referee of the Year at the 2012 CAF Awards in Accra, Ghana. The 2013 Nations Cup has been rattled by poor officiating with at least two central referees being dismissed by CAF.
