Assistant to the Sudanese President Abdel Rahman Sadiq al-Mahdi held talks on Wednesday with joint AU-UN Special Representative for Darfur and head of UNAMID Mohamed Ibn Chambas over the conflict in Darfur. Sudan is supporting a declaration a cease-fire and boosting ways to hold a dialogue on Darfur, al-Mahdi said. He added that Ibn Chambas floated a proposal for holding talks with all armed groups in Darfur to reach a negotiated solution for the conflict. Al-Mahdi welcomed the proposal and called on neighboring countries to supporting peace talks on Darfur.
