South Sudan has denied any relationship with the recent attack by the rebels of the Revolutionary Front against Sudan's North and South Kordofan States, Khartoum's Al-Akhbar daily reported Tuesday. South Sudan's ambassador in Khartoum Mayan Dot said that Sudan did not accuse South Sudan of involvement in the attack against Um Rawaba in North Kordofan State, pointing out that if there was such accusation he would have been summoned or asked by the concerned authorities, according to the paper. He further said that the Sudan People's Liberation Movement ( SPLM)/northern sector is present in the north, noting that this is not their responsibility of the Republic of South Sudan, but the responsibility of the United Nations. He added that South Sudan has implemented its withdrawal within the demilitarized zone with Sudan, reiterating Juba's readiness to play an active role in ending the issue between the Sudanese government and the SPLM/northern sector. South Kordofan has been witnessing armed clashes since 2011 between the Sudanese army and the SPLM/northern sector, which has formed the Revolutionary Front alliance with a number of Darfur armed movements to topple the government in Khartoum. Last month, the rebels of the Revolutionary Front alliance, which brings together the SPLM/northern sector, the Darfur rebel Justice and Equality Movement, the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA)/ Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur faction and the SLA/Minni Minawi faction, attacked Um Rawaba and Alla-Kareem areas in North Kordofan State and Abu Karshulla area in South Kordofan State.
