The Palestinian National Council asserted on Sunday that Al Aqsa Mosque and Haram esh-Sharif are not subject to division or participation with the Israeli occupation.
This came in a press release issued by the council on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the 1969 arson attack against Al Aqsa Mosque when it was set on fire by an Australian Jew, Michael Rohan, in coordination with Israeli occupation authorities and its military forces.
The council also urged the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to implement its resolutions concerning the adoption of the mosque’s Arabic and Islamic name.
The council called on Arab and Islamic nations as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to support al Quds residents to be able to defend the city especially after the recent Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque.
