Israel's opposition leader Isaac Herzog called for sacking Israeli Minister Ayoub Kara following his statements in which he claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump will adopt a plan to establish a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and Egypt's Sinai.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu stressed that Washington has never floated or discussed such an idea.
Egypt plays a vital role in providing security and stability in the Middle East region, the Israeli PM said.
Writing on Twitter a day before the first meeting between Netanyahu and Trump since the US businessman took office in January, Kara said the two leaders would give their support to a proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula.
