Staff from the West Jerusalem Israeli municipality Wednesday demolished a Palestinian-owned house in al-Ashraqiya area of Beit Hanina, a neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem, under the pretext it was built without a permit, WAFA News Agency reported.
Israeli police cordoned off the area as bulldozers proceeded to demolish the house.
Palestinians rarely get building permit from the Israeli municipality forcing them to build without one.
The municipality intends to demolish more Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem as its staff handed over on Tuesday demolition notices to 10 homes in Sour Baher, south of the city, also under the pretext they were built 'without a permit.'
