Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi warned that any failure in the talks between Tehran and the world powers will be blamed on the US for its excessive demands in the negotiations.
"The US excessive demands are seriously preventing Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) from striking a final agreement," Boroujerdi said in a meeting with Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament on Sunday evening.
The prominent Iranian legislator reiterated that Iran has been transparent in the negotiations with the world powers.
Boroujerdi, meantime, pointed to the status quo of Iran-Georgia relations, and said, "In view of the will of high-ranking officials of Iran and Georgia to broaden bilateral ties, the two countries should use all their existing capacities to do so."
He called on Tehran and Tbilisi to expedite implementation of the bilateral agreements in a bid to help further expand their mutual cooperation.
The 10th round of negotiations between Iran and the six world powers was held in Vienna from November 18 to 24, where the seven nations decided to extend the talks until July after they failed to strike an agreement.
The latest round of the nuclear talks between the two sides was held at the level of deputy foreign ministers in Geneva, Switzerland, on January 18.
The two sides decided to continue their talk early in February.
Both Iran and the G5+1 negotiators have underlined that cutting a final deal before the July 10 deadline is possible.
