Russia on Saturday confirmed its Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s participation in the quadripartite ministerial meeting on Ukraine in Berlin on Sunday.
“We confirm the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the meeting,” the ministry said.
On Friday, Russian presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov and his Ukrainian counterpart Boris Lozhkin agreed to organise a quadripartite meeting of the Russian, Ukrainian, German, and French foreign ministers in “the Normandy format”, the presidential press service said, adding that "the agenda will be discussed at the meeting itself."
Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told ITAR-TASS that the format of the meeting was being discussed.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin wrote on Twitter: “I am going to be in Berlin on Sunday to meet Steinmeier, Fabius and Lavrov. We need to talk whether it’s a square or round table.
