Farmers in Nigeria reportedly killed 13 Fulani herdsman in what were believed to be reprisal attacks, local media reported. The Daily Trust of Abuja said the herdsmen were reported killed in Taraba State early Sunday by Bachama farmers who allegedly raided villages. Alhaji Sale Bayari, national secretary-general of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association, said suspected Bachama farmers from the Numan area of Adamawa state attacked Fulanis in the neighboring villages of Kana, Bujum, Yitti and the Mayo-Lope of Lau local government area in Taraba state. Bayari said some of some of those killed "were complying with the eviction order given by the Bachama only for them to be attacked and killed while crossing River Benue." The Daily Trust said efforts to reach an Adamawa police public relations officer were unsuccessful.
