Eleven Palestinian prisoners in Negev prison announced that they will go on an open hunger strike in solidarity with their fellow Bilal Kayed who was on hunger strike for 35 days in protest at his administrative detention, Palestinian sources said on Tuesday.
Also, the open-ended hunger strike of the eleven prisoners come after a group of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails decided to stage a hunger strike since Sunday in support of Kayed who is still in prison although that he had served his sentence of 14 years and half, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said.
In a related context, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs (CDA) said that Palestinian inmates in Israeli Nafha prison will take escalating steps through protesting in all departments of prisons to show their solidarity with Kayed and two other prisoners who were on hunger strike for 10 days.
