The financial aid extended by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) is contributing to social and economic development of Lebanon, said Director General of the Fund Abdulwahab Al-Bader here Thursday.
Speaking to KUNA after his meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Al-Bader said that the KFAED worked under the guidelines set by the Kuwaiti leadership, noting that his country was keen on bolstering relations with Lebanon on all possible domains.
The meeting with Berri focused on KFAED's projects in Lebanon, said Al-Bader, adding that possible accords between Lebanon and Kuwait were also touched upon.
During the visit, KFAED officials are to sign a loan deal for a slaughterhouse project in Tripoli, provide a donation to support Lebanese communities hosting Syrian refugees, and finance a number of projects in southern Beirut, including an emergency center in Ghobeiry, the historical Beaufort Castle in Nabatieh and the project of Litani River in Beqaa Valley.
