Economic Development Federica Guidi on Wednesday asserted that her country is committed to strengthen relations with Egypt.
In a joint press conference with Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil, Guidi said that Italy seeks having joint projects with Egypt in Africa and the Middle East.
Italy is interested in cooperating in Egypt in various fields such as infrastructure, new and renewable energy, petrochemicals, steel and cement industries, she added.
Qabil said that the two sides discussed a number of investment and trade opportunities.
Guidi, accompanied by an Italian high-level economic delegation, arrived here on Tuesday to discuss increasing Italian investments in Egypt.
The delegation includes representatives of 37 major Italian institutions and companies to prepare for an Egyptian-Italian summit in Cairo.
