Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Monday said that dealings inside Egypt whether purchase or sale of goods and the services are in Egyptian pounds, unless otherwise stipulated in an international convention, according to article 111 of Egypt's Banking Law No. 88.
Any violation will be faced firmly, the premier added during a meeting of the economic ministerial committee.
The ministerial meeting discuss final preparations for the Egypt Economic Development conference (EEDC)
The meeting also dealt with documents scheduled to be presented during the EEDC.
Mahlab also reviewed the electricity ministry's preparations for the next summer, including the improvement of power plants and the conducting of required maintenance.
