Finance Minister Hany Qadri asserted on Sunday Egyptian economic reform policies are in the right direction, as evidenced by the recent economic performance indicators.
He made the remarks during his participation in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF), now in session in Washington.
In a statement released by the finance ministry, Qadri said that the IMF has praised the government's economic program and stressed its capability of achieving Egypt's economic objectives.
The economic reforms made by the government would help Egypt restore its economic position at the international level, he added.
The government is keen on completing the financial and legislative reforms program which includes improving the investment climate and re-prioritization of public spending, notably the increase of spending on infrastructure and human development sectors, according to Qadri.
