Egypt has a well-defined future energy strategy that will make it by 2020, or even before, export gas with the new explorations, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has been following up the energy file and held over five meetings to review electricity, gas and petrochemical industries projects, the premier said during a tour of Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) in Beheira’s Idko city on Monday.
The Petroleum Ministry has inked nearly 50 agreements for energy exploration, he said.
Mahlab then inspected a third-generation rig operating for Burullus Gas Company in the Mediterranean Sea.
He also inspected another rig owned by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company and Japanese Toyota Company.
