Minister of Industry and Trade Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour said coordination is underway with the Russian side to set a date for holding the tenth session of the Egyptian-Russian joint committee for trade and scientific research cooperation, due to be held in Cairo with the participation of a number of Russian companies.
In a press conference, he said contacts are also underway with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which groups Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to set a date for the first meeting of experts to discuss a free trade agreement between Egypt and the Union.
He said the visit by Russian companies' officials to Egypt proves the strength of strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Abdel Nour pointed out that his meeting with Russian counterpart tackled the importance of cementing cooperation between the two sides in the fields of trade and industry.
