Minister of Industry and Trade Munir Fakhri Abdel-Nour has said the Agadir Agreement needs to be reviewed to find out the causes of its failure so far to increase joint investments.
In statements to a meeting to reconsider the outcome of the agreement that became effective seven years ago, Abdel-Nour said it was important for the four member states (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan) to remove the obstacles before pan-trade.
The event was attended by Secretary General of the Agadir Agreement Unit Elaid Mahsoussi.
Abdel-Nour highlighted the need to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) through technical support and training in a bid to increase trade between the five member states and the European Union (EU).
