The leftist "al-Yasarya" television channel followed the Lebanese communist party and delivered a statement today announcing: "The station was broken in to and looted during an attack which destroyed all our equipment." In the statement received by Arabstoday, al-Yasarya said: "Yesterday night at 8:30pm al-Yasarya TV channel's studios and crew were attacked by more than 40 masked militants. their family of political belonging is unknown as does their motive for destroying and stealing all the equipment and kidnapping three employees. They attacked all citizens they met by chance after asking them what they are doing." After contacting political and official sides with al- Mekdad, those kidnapped were released. The channel was astonished by its targeting through this previously planned attack, especially as the channel is working in a secured area under the guard of military intelligence, presidential guards, and residential security. Al-Yasaria called on official and political sides responsible to take immediate measures to return back its looted property, end the spreading security chaos and stop violence against civilians, institutions and the media structure. The station also demanded that those who carried out and planned the attacks should be revealed to the public and punished according to public opinion.
