Egyptian actress Tayseer Fahmy, head of Egypt's Equality and Development party, is worried that the organisation has not yet supported a presidential candidate. She said that Egypt needs a president like the late Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser In an exclusive statement to Arabstoday, she said: “I cannot talk as an individual because I am representing the party. We are closely examining the candidate who will be supported by the party." She expressed her fears that a president will be propped up against the will of the Egyptian people through agreements between political forces. "Egypt is currently in needof a leader like the late president Gamal Abdel Nasser...whether we agree or disagree about it, no one can deny that he was a true gentleman," she said.
