Egyptian actress Nelly Karim has likened the current conditions in Egypt to the movie "Hiya Fawda" (It’s Chaos) by the late director Youssef Chahine. She also expressed her deep sorrow for the rivalry existing between the country's political and religious parties. Nelly said in statement to Arabstoday: “What is going on in Egypt is a carbon copy of that movie. The religious currents represented in the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists could head the political scene in spite of all.” The Egyptian artist added: “All must take into account the higher interest of Egypt, away from any personal ambitions, so we can take positive steps forward to reach stability.”
