Egyptian actress Nelly Karim has described Egyptian politics as a “dirty game” and said she does not want to understand its principles. "I am not politically responsible as an artist, and only want to talk to media about my work," she said. Nelly told Arabstoday: “Politicians in Egypt no longer understand anything, so if the political specialists do not understand, is it required that artists should understand things so disconnected from what they do?" She added: “I announce honestly that I do not understand politics, and I don’t even want to understand it as from my point of view politics is a dirty game.” Nelly did not feature in any television show this year after her series “Zat” (Self) was left out of the Ramadan TV season.
