U.S. pop star Madonna admits she suffered "a little bit of a whiplash" when a backup dancer yanked her cape and accidentally knocked her off a platform at the Brit Awards show this week.
The 56-year-old recording artist initially insisted she was fine after Wednesday's tumble, a video of which went viral.
However, she elaborated on her condition during a taping for Britain's Jonathan Ross Show Thursday, denying the mishap was a publicity stunt as some have speculated.
"I had a little bit of a whiplash and I smacked the back of my head, so there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m., making sure that I was still copacetic," Madonna said in the interview, which will air on ITV March 14.
"I didn't hurt my butt, I hurt my head," she added. "Honestly, the universe was, I don't know, trying to teach me a lesson I guess."
