Gene Simmons said Friday that women shouldn't depend on men and instead should assume they will abandon them.
The KISS frontman gave the sage advice during an appearance on Fox News to talk about his new book, Me, Inc: Build an Army of One, Unleash Your Inner Rock God, Win in Life and Business.
"This is a very complex and difficult question to answer so I'm going to put it as simply as possible. Women: Stop depending on men. It's as simple as that. Imagine there are no men in life," he said. "Find out that thing that you're good for that makes the money and then get married and or have children from a position of strength."
Simmons has been dishing out all sorts of controversial advice and thoughts lately. In August he issued a public apology for saying he thought depressed people should kill themselves.
"Drug addicts and alcoholics are always: 'This world is a harsh place,'" Simmons said in an interview with Songfacts weeks before. "My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. I don't want to hear [expletive] all about 'the world is a harsh place.' She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life. And for a putz, 20-year-old kid to say, 'I'm depressed, I live in Seattle.' [Expletive] you, then kill yourself."
That same month he told immigrants to "learn to speak goddamn English."
