Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation, presented lamps of hope and gifts to children at the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees during a visit to the camp in Jordan.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan was accompanied during the visit to the camp by UAE Ambassador to Jordan Bilal Al Budoor and Emirates Red Crescent’s Secretary-General Dr Mohammed Al Falahi.
The gifts were delivered in attendance of Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Shamma bint Sohail Faris AlMazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Larisa Miller, Director at Office of Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and Akon, the American rapper, Abdullah Al Mehrezi, Manager of the camp, welcomed the delegation and informed them about the camp and services provided to the refugees.
The UAE Embassy in Jordan announced in a press conference the arrival of the ''Beacon of Hope'' initiative, launched by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to support children who have no access to education in countries hit by wars, poverty and natural disasters.
