During an official ceremony held on Friday at the Bellevue Presidential Palace, Mr. Elyes Ghariani presented to German President Christian Wulff his credentials as Tunisia's new ambassador to Germany. On the occasion, Mr. Wulff expressed consideration for the courage of Tunisian people who had written a new page in their history that will contribute to shape the future of the whole region. After voicing admiration for the Tunisian Revolution, the German president expressed his country's commitment to support Tunisia in achieving its people's aspirations and building up a new society based on democracy, freedoms, human rights and dignity. For his part, Mr. Elyes Ghariani extended thanks to the German government for the support provided to Tunisia since the first days of the Revolution, laying emphasis on the importance Tunisia attaches to co-operation with friendly and partner countries to implement policies that would offer better prospects for Tunisians. In this regard, Tunisia's new ambassador expressed wish that Germany would continue to stand by Tunisia, by reinforcing co-operation, encouraging German investments and developing human, cultural and trade exchanges between the two countries.
