The Indictment Division of the Tunis Court of Appeal decided, on Wednesday evening, to lift the travel ban issued by the examining judge of the 9th office of the Court of First Instance of Tunis against Tunisian General Labour Union Secretary-General Abdessalem Jerad. The examining judge had issued on Tuesday a travel ban decision against Abdessalem Jerad for corruption charges. The defence team submitted, on Wednesday, a request to the examining judge to review the travel ban decision against Abdessalem Jerad which was turned down. The defence appealed against this decision at the Indictment Division in its capacity as authority appealing decisions of the examining judge. It took the decision to lift the travel ban against Mr. Abdessalem Jerad.
