The International Criminal Court at The Hague will seek an arrest warrant against Sudan's defense minister, court sources indicated. The sources told a Middle Eastern news organization the case against Sudanese Defense Minister Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein will be the fourth dealing with Darfur, the Sudan Tribune reported Tuesday.Hussein served as interior minister and representative of the president of Darfur during the height of the conflict in the region during 2003-04.Rebels from Darfur took up arms against Sudan's government in 2003, accusing it of marginalizing the remote western territory. The government's attempts to crush the uprising unleashed a wave of violence the United Nations estimated killed 300,000 people."Investigators at the ICC Prosecutor's Office have been collecting evidence against the Sudanese defense minister for a while now and these will be submitted to the pre-trial judges once the indictment is announced," sources told al-Arabiya.The report did not provide any specifics about the case.
