The President of the Republic, Omar Bashir, has announced that Sudan has received the consent of the Gulf States countries to sign an agreement on strategic partnership between the Sudan and the Gulf States Council.
The President of the Republic who is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, commended the economic experience of the kingdom and described its experience in the economic field as outstanding and exemplary.
He said Sudan is keen to learn from the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain and that one of the priority of the newly formed national Accord government would be to make use of the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the economic fields.
The president reviewed the various resources Sudan enjoys and he preferential status it enjoys particularly its location near the maritime passage of the Red Sea and adjacent to the COMESA market beside the huge human and natural resources in the country.
The president pointed out to the success Sudan scored in the education and the scientific research, and to the outstanding performance of the Sudanese graduates. He said Sudan stands ready to exchange its experience with the Kingdom in this fields.
The crown prince of Kingdom of Bahrain and he Supreme commander and the vice president of the council of Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has stressed that his country appreciate the huge potentials of the Sudan and that the kingdom stands ready to use its resource to assist the Sudan which, he said, has hugely contributed in the development of Gulf region.
The accompanying ministers, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Badr Eddin Mahmoud Abbas and the Minister for Investment, Dr. Mudathir Abdul Ghani, have on their part reviewed the various economic and investment policies in place in the Sudan and the various improvement introduced to make all procedures done via one window as well as the incentives being provided for the investors coming to the Sudan
The Bahrain Chairman of the Economic Development Council, Khalid Al Rumaihi, has pointed to the various policies adopted by the government leading to the takeoff of the Kingdom economy.
He said the petroleum proceeds constitute only 20% of the country income and that the reminder comes from the financial, industrial and knowledge sectors saying his country is ready to transfer this experience to the Sudan.
