Prime Minister Sherif Ismail chaired on Thursday a meeting of the Higher Ministerial Committee for Hajj to discuss preparations for the 1438H pilgrimage season.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of Awqaf, social solidarity, health, civil aviation, tourism and transport, in addition to heads of Hajj missions and other bodies concerned.
Ismail ordered stepping up preparations for this year's Hajj season and urged all ministries and bodies concerned to coordinate with each other to provide high-quality services for pilgrims, such as housing and transportation.
Only 78,138 Egyptian pilgrims will be allowed to perform Hajj this year due to expansion projects at the Holy Mosque in Mecca.
The committee is set to hold a series of meetings as of the next week to follow up preparations for the coming Hajj season.
