The Omani voters will head to the ballot boxes tomorrow (Saturday) for casting their votes in a historical day that is much awaited by all people to elect their representatives in Majlis A'Shura 7th term elections 2011/2014. The Interior Ministry completed all preparations for receiving the voters as all the election organizing committees across the wilayats. 105 election centres were established across the wilayats. Every centre includes 6-10 ballot boxes that were specially designed to facilitate the voting process. 518,000 voters were registered across the Sultanate for electing 84 members in Majlis A'Shura 7th term. 1133 including 77 female candidates are competing to win in the elections. All conditions are now ready for receiving the voters after the ballot boxes have received the votes of the Omani voters from the Omani embassies across the AGCC countries, in addition to those working in the election committees across the Sultanate last Saturday who have casted their votes to choose their representatives in Majlis A'Shura because it shall not be possible for them to cast their votes in the general elections to be held tomorrow (Saturday). Times of election were determined in all the election centres across the Sultanate that would start from 7 am till 7 pm. This period might be extended, if necessary. The main committee for Majlis A'Shura 7th term elections clarified the voting process to be followed in the election centres as every voter has to bring his/her ID card for casting their votes. The primary results will be announced after the end of the sorting out process in every wilayat then an official statement will be issued on October 16th announcing the final results. The main committee stated that mobile units will be provided for installing the e-system and determining the election centre of the voter who is registered in the election record across all the election centers in the Sultanate's wilayats on October 15th. The committee allowed the nominees to publish their propagandas and ads in accordance with the controls and procedures that allowed the nominees to define themselves to the voters, in addition to holding meetings with the voters. The committee also allowed the transfer of the election record of the voters from one wilaya to another. A mobile electronic unit formed of concerned employees from Interior Ministry and Royal Oman Police that works on recording the ID card in the election record. This operation will continue even at the day of election tomorrow to face any emergency as this operation is applied for the first time in the Sultanate's elections in order to avoid any fraud.
