Omani Commerce and Industry Minister Eng. Ali bin Masoud al-Sunaidi, conferred here on Wednesday with Dr. Dipu Moni, the Foreign Affairs Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who is now visiting the sultanate. During the meeting, the two sides touched on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the importance of promoting them to cover the economic, trade and investment aspects. The two sides also touched on the importance of promoting exchanges in the field of oil and gas. The Bangladeshi Foreign Affairs Minister pointed out that her country intends to discuss the possibility of the Sultanate’s investment in the field of oil exploration in the Bangladeshi regional water as her country looks forward to reach a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this field. The Omani and Bangladeshi sides stressed the importance of the economic cooperation and benefiting from the investment opportunities in the two countries and increasing the trade cooperation between the Omani and Bangladeshi private sectors in a bid to serve the interests of the two sides. As for promoting the trade exchanges, the two sides affirmed the importance of the officials’ visits between the two countries, as well as organizing joint exhibitions to promote for the local products of the two countries. She also touched on the field of medicine and her ambition to bring these medicines to the Omani and Gulf markets.
