Consultations are underway in Oman to float an initiative to solve the Yemeni crisis, the Omani news agency reported on Thursday.
Observers believe that the seven-point initiative will call for a complete withdrawal of Houthis and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh from Yemen as well as supporting legitimacy of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
The initiative urges also holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, forming a national unity government, organizing an international donors' conference to boost the Yemeni economy and supporting Yemen to gain membership in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Upon the initiative, the Houthi group will turn into a political party and will be given a chance to play a role in the political life.
