Nine people were killed in two days due to road accidents in Oman, according to a press release from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) Monday. A collision between a car and a truck at Khaboura in north resulted in death of the driver of the saloon car on Sunday. On the same day, a pedestrian was run over by a passenger bus while he tried to dash across the highway in Suwaiq town also in the north. On Saturday, seven deaths were reported by the ROP due to traffic-related accidents. "There were 13 accidents reported from different parts of the country Saturday in which 30 people were also injured," a spokesperson for ROP said. Apart from these, the ROP said 13 people were killed and 194 injured in 125 road accidents from May 7 to13. Meanwhile, the ROP has called on all drivers to adhere to traffic rules, observe the speed limit and not overtake in forbidden areas to reduce traffic accidents. from / Gulf News
